Experience freedom
"Stay in the midst of the magic, where
every dream is just a wish away."
Walt Disney World Disability Guide
Is it really that easy to navigate Walt's World if
you're not one of the able-bodied?
Do the guidebooks tell you all you really
need to plan your Disney vacation in a wheelchair?
We have decided that it is time to combine all the
information for wheelchair touring into one neat package. We hope to build a community that
while it may not be of
interest to everyone, it may be of interest to many. While we will focus on
those rolling through Disney World on their personal wheels, the site will benefit those who
are temporarily in chairs or have
endurance issues as well.
NOTE: we have included as much detail as we could since everyone has
different capabilities of transfer, trunk control, arm strength, head
control, etc. Also, we have not taken other equipment, such
as feeding tubes, vents, cooling systems, into account. If you have
anything additional to offer, please email us.
We are starting with the Disney World information first. As time goes by, we
will add other Orlando Destination information such as Universal
Studio's, Sea World and maybe even cover the cruise ships that sail in and
out of the nearby ports.
If you have any thing you would like to contribute,
please let us know!
Email me at
info@themouseonwheels.com with any help or suggestions.

|
Bring your Handicapped
Parking Permit if you will be driving at WDW, so that you can park in
the Handicapped Parking Areas at the resorts and parks. All states in the
US have reciprocity with Florida. If you have a valid Handicapped
parking permit in your home state, it will be OK in Florida too |
